It is with great sadness that I will be leaving you all. I have enjoyed meeting and getting to know you and hope to keep in touch with all of you. I wanted to introduce you to Lesley Evans who will be your new LCC starting on November 7th. I know she is excited to get to know you and will be reaching out to you to introduce herself. Below is some information about Lesley:

ABOUT LESLEY:

Hello! I’m Lesley Evans. I am Scottish and I have been resident in Sudbury MA for the past 4 yrs. I’m happily married to James and we have a daughter Tabitha who is a 1st grader.

I have always been passionate about world travel and curious about languages and culture. When I was 19 years old I was an au pair in Toulouse, South of France, where I learned to love the people, the language and the food! Since then I have lived in the Netherlands, Singapore and the USA and I have travelled to many countries.

Au pairing is a tremendous way for young people to experience another culture and learn or improve on a second language while simultaneously providing excellent childcare. Similar can be said of the wonderful host families who experience the joy of live-in childcare and at the same time introducing their children to another culture and perhaps another language.

I love food, wine, chess, reading, pilates and trying to improve my tennis. I find myself in the wonderful position of working with like-minded people who fervently believe in cultural exchange.

By now you hopefully all have power…..and heat. I wanted to remind you that our November meeting will be this Sunday November 6th at 5:00 pm. We will be meeting with Sharon Litchfield’s group at her house. Check your email for the address. We are planning on  playing dance party, having pizza, and just socializing and having some fun as we get to know everyone better. This will be my last meeting with you all so hopefully you can make it. Let me know if you are coming by Friday November 4th so we know how much pizza to get.

Well, it doesn’t look like mother nature is going to cooperate with us. The weather does not look good for canoeing tomorrow or Sunday so I am going to cancel canoeing. We will still have our monthly meeting on Saturday at 10:00 but we will meet at The Drome/Bowladrome and Arcade, 257 Main St. in Acton at 10:00 for bowling instead. The cost is $4.25 per person per game with a $2.00 shoe rental. There is food and games available for an additional cost if you would like to eat or play the arcade games. It is first come first serve for the bowling lanes so the earlier you get there the better. You are welcome to stay and bowl as long as you would like. I know a few of you have invited friends from other groups and they are welcome to come bowl with us so please let them know about the change.

Rain or shine I know we will have fun bowling. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

We will be meeting at the South Bridge Boat house on Route 62 (Main Street) in Concord, MA on Saturday October 1st at 10:00 am. Your choice, you can canoe or Kayak. The cost is $13.00/hour per boat. Each boat can hold 2-4 people. Cash only. We will be joining several other au pair groups so it will be a great opportunity to meet some new people and have fun exploring the beautiful Concord River. A life vest will be provided. Rain date is 10/2. See you all on Saturday.

We will be meeting at the AMC Framingham 16 Movie Theatre (located at 22 Flutie Pass in Framingham)  on Sunday 9/11 to see the movie The Help. The movie starts at 7. Please arrive at 6:15 so that you have time to check in with me, purchase your ticket, and find each other to sit together. You are responsible for buying your own tickets. Come early before it sells out. We are seeing the movie with Sharon Litchfield’s group so look for us in the lobby. We will be wearing our Cultural Care T-Shirts. Please don’t forget to sign in.
